PROJECT LOCATION :: ASHEVILLE, NC
PROJECT TYPE :: COMMERCIAL
COLLABORATORS :: LEGERTON ARCHITECTURE
This project was a close collaboration with Wicked Weed Brewing and Legerton Architecture including constant communication to develop site plans to create the Funkatorium’s outdoor patio and bocce court.
The outdoor patio expansion allowed for double the seating capacity of the taproom. Future phases of this project included the redesign of the entrance to the southern side of the building, Cultura, which serves new-agrarian cuisine. OLA also assisted in the design of the new beer garden space, including the outdoor bar and stage.
This project was a direct collaboration with Wicked Weed Brewing to address quality of life enhancements for the process of brewing at Wicked Weed’s main location on Biltmore Avenue in Downtown Asheville, The Pub.This design addressed the old ramp down to the lower level of the Pub in between the Pub and The Orange Peel. This ramp was used as a vehicular ramp back when this building was used as a car repair shop.
With the updated redesign, Wicked Weed is now better equipped to handle daily brewing operations and also provide a friendlier access experience to the lower level from the outside. This project also included collaboration with Artful Shelter to develop a new shade canopy for the Pub’s lower gathering space.
